Hair Me: A Journey Through the Rich Tapestry of Black Hair

Hair Me is a one-woman theatrical journey written and performed by Haitian-American actor, author and playwright Leslie Saint-Julien. Through storytelling, poetry, movement and character transformation, Leslie explores Black hair as a living archive of memory, culture, family and self-definition.

Moving between personal memory and history, Hair Me examines the expectations placed upon Black hair and the complicated relationship between appearance, identity and belonging.

At the center of the journey is a question:

Who gets to decide who we are?
